Fish boards are wide, short and have a flat rocker in both the entry and the tail. The New Age Fish Surfboard, also known as the Rocket Fish, has a total of three fins. Thraditionally though, the fish surf board was designed with only two fins. Fishes catch waves pretty well even though they do not have a ton of surface area, mainly because of the flatness of its rocker, allowing the fish board to plane at a lower speed. The short design makes for a tight turn, making the board ideal for small waves but the expert surfer can also make them work on medium size waves as well. Because of the added width, fish tend to ride flat on the wave and don’t go from rail to rail very well, making them very hard to surf vertically. The flat rocker and quick planing make this a very quick mover that loves to speed down lines and zoom past slower sections of waves. The fish surfboard is best for intermediate to advanced surfers.
